I just found out that Alan Kerslake passed away last week. He was a member here under the name AlanJohn, though he was only here for a short while and made a relative few posts.

If anyone has spent any time watching the various YouTube pipe channels, you may well have come across him - you'd remember him as a true Welsh gentleman, fond of pipes, poetry, music, cycling, and long quiet chats. Through the virtual world, we had many good conversations and had gotten to know each other quite well.

I'll miss you, my friend.

Ian, sorry to hear this. My favorite video of Alan was his piece on his pipe collection with him taking the viewer through every room in his house, pipe racks hanging on the walls, pipes he made on shelves, counters, etc. He seemed like a true gentleman. RIP..

Sorry to hear this, we've lost another fine gentleman.
It seems the good always go first, may he rest in Peace and his family not morn
but, celebrate his life.

So sorry to hear this Ian! May he find eternal peace. May his family find the strength they need in their time of sorrow.

Rest in peace AlanJohn

Er coffadwriaeth parchus am (In respectful remembrance of) AlanJohn.

How strange.  I only found a YouTube clip of Alan for the first time yesterday.
Nos da Alan Bach. Nos da....

Very sad to hear that, I watched most of his videos is a glut a month or two ago and learnt a lot.

When I read this post I went back to check youtube hoping that there was another Welsh youtube poster, and I had remembered the name wrong.

He seemed like a decent sort of chap, I would have liked to have known him.

Coffadwriaeth y cyfiawn sydd fendigedig. May he Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.
