I've heard there are some inaccuracies but I have that one saved myself for Charatan reference.

Yeah, Tad Gage's Charatan article is the standard. :shock:

The problem is, there are so many gross contradictions "out there" that trying to figure out what really happened, and when, is like trying to get to the bottom of the Kennedy assassinations.

Fun trying though  8) 

IMO, Lane-era (and before) Charatans are probably the least appreciated Britwood of the 1950-1990 era. Seriously. You could match every great Barling TFV YOW or Comoy Blue Ribband with a Charatan Selected or Supreme and still have a lot of seriously nice Charatans left over. Even after you've culled out the Post-Two-Pint-Lunch production.
