The little misses and my two boys want to get me a pipe for Christmas. i get to pick it myself. what I want some information on is brands. I want to keep the price around $100.00 including a tin of OGS. I want a full bent billiard, brandy, or egg shape pipe and it needs to have some "pop" like my six year old says. What brands are worth considering. Too many for a new guy pick between, this will be my first new pipe.

OGS should cost no more than $7-8 at most shops. There are several brands that I would consider for that price. Savinelli, Nording, Peterson, Cassano, Wessex, Stanwell, Brigham, Chacom, Neerup, Vauen, and Luciano are some just to name.

I would personally recommend Savinelli, Luciano, Stanwell, and Peterson. My first pipe was a bent billiard from Savinelli.

Savinelli makes some really sharp pipes in that price range, that or a Pete, as was mentioned. Some of the Viking pipes are okay, as are Jilsa.

I think I'm going to indulge in that handmade volcano pipe at ad pipe for xmas, going to be a cold winter and the fires from the volcano should help to warm the place.
