Woke up early on a Sat. morn. decided to clean 35 pipes!!!  Got most of them done just have to beeswax the rims & polish, a labor of love Ken
Pacem en Puffing!

i have been cleaning my pipes for a little while now, but i havent found a good carnauba wax compound. i have bought it in its raw state, but it is very difficult to work with. any suggestions? once i clean the stems from estate pipes and sweeten it, the only thing missing is a good polish.

Halcyon II or Paragon Wax (depending on whether the finish is smooth or blasted/rusticated), hands down the best without a buffer (in which case, use Carnauba of course). Walker Briar Works' wax is not bad, but I like the Haycyon or Paragon much better.

1-back cleaning - 12 month interval
Last cleaning - 18 month interval

God's hand has to descend and permanently glue a bristle cleaner onto my hand before I get motivated. I'm much more of a "get it done" guy than a procrastinator, but not in this area. I have some 60 pipes and it usually takes at least a dozen hours to clean all of them, but I wonder what that interval would be were I removing gunk quarterly?

Oh, and as a bachelor cleaning my house always has a low priority, even with two cats. Sometimes I have to fight to open the door as its blocked by fur balls.
