Comoy's Scrimshaw Pipes?

Hello Brothers,

I recently picked up this Comoy's Scrimshaw pipe. I have tried to do some research on it, but there is very little available on the internet regarding these. Has anyone else seen one of these? Does anyone else have one? Any ideas regarding the history of these pipes, and when they were produced?

I am a fan of scrimshaw, and was particularly attracted to the nautical theme.

Once upon a time a had a smooth one. Like you, I thought the scrimshaw accent was the coolest thing I'd seen in a while.

Judging by the nomenclature and the "c" logo on the stem, we can determine that these are post-Cadogan. Probably made in the 80's. I'm sure Comoy's experts can tell you more.

I wound up trading mine off because it was a little big and just not the same quality as my older Comoys. I'd still like to see more scrimshaw on pipes and have even toyed around with the idea of putting some on my handmades. Of course I'd need to learn another craft to do it justice or collaborate with a scrimshaw artist.

Yep, based on the single-drill "C" logo, I'd say that was early post-Cadogan, early 80's. The scrimshaw is kind of neat!
