Now that my collection has started to grow, I have decided to start dedicating particular pipes to specific blends.
In the beginning, I would simply dedicate a particular pipe to either Virginia based blends, or Latakia based blends and leave it at that. However, after becoming interested in the quest to find the perfect pipe geometry and tobacco blend pairing, I quickly realized that I would need to be able to remember exactly which blend I wanted to smoke out of a particular pipe.
Walmart had these label makers on sale this week for $17. The idea hit me to simply make a label, and leave the backing intact, and slide the label into the bowl for future reference. The label maker comes with white labels, but a variety of colors are available if you would prefer something other than the standard white.
This particular Kaywoodie in the pic, has been dedicated to MacBaren Navy Flake. Now that I can remember exactly which blend is matched to a particular pipe, I won't have to worry about forgetting, should I give a particular pipe an extended break in the rack. :king:
