I've been lurking here for awhile, and thought I should introduce myself. I've been a pipe smoker since I discovered the nearby Wilke Pipe Shop, while working in New York in the early 70's. Oh, yes, I'm friends with that Kyle Weiss fellow, and meet with him and his crew at the local Tinder Box.

Glad you joined up--this place has more true friends for me than I have in the real world. This place is more real to me than the real world... worrisome as that is. :lol: :p

I think a Sacramento meet-up would be awesome, we'd have at least three or four Reno guys to come hang out, if not at the Pipe Club at least at Tobacco Road!

Welcome. Was the Wilke Pipe Shop anything to do with Pipeworks and Wilke? I want to try some of their aros.
 
The Wilke shop was the ancestor to Pipeworks & Wilke. I was fortunate to work at Ogilvy & Mather, then located on Fifth, between 47th & 48th. Within a ten minute walk, I could visit either Wilke, Ed Burak's Connoisseur, or Dunhill. Now in Manhattan, you'd be cited for even lighting a pipe, no less smoking. A golden age, it was.
 
Guess we can forgive you for having that Kyle guy for a friend. Welcome make yourself at home. :D
