Well, I finished this one Saturday. This was the shape that the block screamed to me that it wanted to be. I wanted to do a more classic shape, but the block just didn't want to cooperate, while sketching. So it is what is it. I'm kinda on the fence about it. One day I'm happy with it and like it. Next day I don't like it at all. It's comfortable in my hand. I may just put it away for awhile. Sometimes when I do that, when I pull it back out I find that I like it. Or I may just decide I hate it. Then again I might just get rid of it. Anyways thanks fer looking.

Stout little feller.  Kinda have mixed opinions on this one.

Hope it smokes good for you.

I think I kinda like it! It's definitely stout. Nice grain, love the stem. Yeah I definitely like it.

What are the bowl interior dimensions? A little wider and it becomes a freehand plateau bent pot.
The interior of the bowl is 7/8" diameter and about 1 3/8" deep.

Thanks to all fer looking and commenting. My last pipe was so much better than this one IMO. This one just isn't my cup of tea, I guess.

Those bowl dimensions sound about right: i find it hard to judge a pipe without a reference point for scale. I think the sales pitch for this one is that, as you said, it would feel great in the hand. The plateau gives the pipe a danish look that I find normally doesn't appeal to me, but you got my wheels turning with how this would FEEL.

I can dig it!

Hell for the right price I'd buy it and sport it too.

Sometimes when crafting (anything, not just pipes) what your making will kind of make itself with your help, rather than you having complete control. Its just the individual character of the item.

Regardless, nice pipe, nothing to be ashamed of.

I like it, have to say I feel drawn to wanting to shape the bowl a little more, I love the idea of that sort of shape, made a couple myself and loved them very much, the grain is superb, a little more shaping to remove the uneven areas would result in this pipe really 'singing'.   :sunny:

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to move away from this one fer awhile, and clear my mind from it. I was thinking last night about whittling on it some more. After sleeping on it I've decided just to walk away and decide later what I want to do with it. Thanks again fer looking and commenting, brothers.
