Back in the early '70s when I was a newbie to pipes a British guy I worked with who was a pipe smoker gave me a tin of Four Square Red a full "Lady N' loaded ready rubb'd straight Va and said ?enjoy" with an evil gleam in his eye! It was the main blend he smoked and it was one of the strongest Va's I can ever recall smoking!! They had 6 colors of "Four Square" blends, all Va's, and was the other tobacco George Simenon smoked besides Royal Yacht! I smoked it off and on back then, then the firm closed up shop and it's not been available since the late '70s. Found this interesting article on the blends made by the firm which were made in Paisley. Scotland and thought folks might like a bit of history of "back in the day" Enjoy
