I posted earlier that I could never smoke an Ascorti pipe without following it with one by Radice.

Since I last smoked one of my Radice pipes it stands to reason that I would follow it with an Ascorti pipe

This gold A marked Ascorti KS Business has a lightly bent silver and black streaked stem, gnarly finish and a stacked Bulldog. Keeping it smokey with more of the F&T Cut Blended Plug.

I'd call that a shaggy dog. One like it would be welcome in my kennel. :)

Banjo, I have a few Bulldog shape pipes in my collection ( my original 1969 Medico, Don Carlos smooth bent and my Radice ), not one of my favorite shapes. The one's I own are excellent smokers!! The Stacked Bulldog your smoking is without a doubt " a real looker ". It's an Ascorti and I bet a superb smoker!

I think a round shank with that bowl is called a rhodesian. A square shank is a bulldog. anyone, is that correct?

That's the way I understand it. :)

If you want too be proper: the pipe is a rhodesian bulldog I would say. My Medico has a square shank...it's a Bulldog. My Don Carlos has a round shank and is properly called a Rhodesian Bullcap Bulldog, technically.

I just posted a link to a Pipe Shape Chart in the thread Pipe Shape Chart under Ye Olde Pipe Rack. Follow the link and click on the shape to get the defining characteristics. :)
