Hello BoB,

I am brand spanking new here. My name is Chris and I live in Northern California near Sacramento. I am an avid beer enthusiast, home brewer, musician and I love smoking a pipe. I started on aromatics several years ago and quit when I discovered that rum and maple tasted like ash & hot air. Around the same time I discovered the world of cigars which I have smoked off and on for years.

I just last year rekindled my interest in pipe smoking and I have always enjoyed reading the info on this forum so decided it was high time I got involved.

Chris

Welcome to the Brotherhood.

I'm sure i'll probably get slapped around for saying this, but there's nothing wrong with Aromatics. Some just taste better than others...

Rob,

Without a doubt I whole heartedly agree. There are a handful of aromatics that I really like and smoke when I need a change.

When I first started with the pipe I found some aromatic blends to be less forgiving when overheated and very bitey. This chased me away from pipe smoking. I later found that smoking slow is key with all aros but try telling a beginner that when you hand him his first tobacco blend.

Welcome Chris, we look forward to reading your post. Hope to chat with you soon buddy.
