Hello,

I find it odd to introduce myself with my current city and state of residence, considering that this says little about me at this stage.
I lived in New York city, Paris, London and now professional vagaries make it that I am in the south of the u.s., but it could be worse I suppose.

I am a pipe smoker since I was 16. My grandfather smoked a pipe -- I think he started in the trenches in WWI. I also have a great uncle who smoked pipes -- he was a man of means, though I saw none of it, however he was a dunhill smoker and the pipe he left I think one of my cousins or possibly my sister stole... He did leave me a beautiful box of Davidoff cubans -- chateaux Margaux's I believe (this was in the late 80's early 90's).

What else? I enjoy English pipe tobaccos. I do not enjoy burley which remind me of the worst cigarettes. Cuban cigars are a favorite, but cigar in pipe tobacco has not worked for me. They are but a memory for me these days.... Most cigars I see these days -- even the purportedly high end ones -- smell of ammonia.

Favorite blends? Old Dunhills tins: London Mixture (Murray or pre) and the mixtures, mediums or standard. Available today: Presbyterian mixture. I greatly enjoyed a tin of Balkan Sobranie I had, but I also have a massive jar of it which I cannot for the life of me finish....
I also have a fondness for Mephisto and Winter's tale. None of which I currently have, alas.

I own roughly 40 pipes, 2 dunhills, 1 castello, 3-4 Ser Jacopos, 5-7 Upshalls, and a bunch of other brands....

I look forward to conversing with you all.

Good morning and thank you for your kind comments. Wishing you a Monday with mellow smoking experiences,

Wecome to BoB.

It seems like you've got a great selection of pipes and good taste in tobacco. I look forward to reading your posts.
