Gotta love a Lovat

Here's a lovely Lovat from Japanese Pipemaker Yuki Tokutomi, keeping it smokey with some F&T Cut Virginia Plug.

Beautiful Lovat, I think my favorite shape because of the Billiard shaped bowl. I prefer a shorter wide stem, better for clenching. I believe that's why I enjoy smoking my older chubby pot style pipes. Also the pot style pipes have a large diameter chamber, therefore I find they smoke Flake blends the best for me. But everyone has their own preference.

A Lovat became tied with a Dublin (in its various forms) as my favorite pipe shape sometime last summer, I think with a Davide Iafisco I picked up. Prior to that, my all-time favorite, hands down? The Prince, which still holds a special place in my heart (and pipe racks!). The lack of its ability to hold a lot of tobacco made it slip down the charts. But there's no question, it's gracefully gorgeous.
