I am a 58 year old who has been a pipe smoker for forty years. I was mentored by the late Joe Milan of Milan Brothers tobacco here in Roanoke, Virginia. Joe and his brothers have passed away of late but there legend lives on and the new owners are celebrating the one hundred year anniversary of the business. I have a wonerful collection of Italian and Danish freehand pipes going back to the seventies thanks to Joe. I was weaned on English style mixtures from the beginning and still smoke their house blends which are tried and true for decades. Unfortunately, as a youngster,I did not purchase many standard shape pipes early on because they did not look "cool " , live and learn. ! Like most of us here ,I have found some real jewels on ebay and enjoy cleaning and refinishing pipes . They still make them like they used to but the prices are now in orbit ! I would appreciate hearing from the members here .
