New member here. I have only been smoking a pipe for 6 months but I am a dedicated convert, so much so that I have begun making my own pipes. In for a penny, in for a pound of briar and ebonite.

Anyway, all my best to the brothers (and sisters?),

Welcome! That's one hell of a way to jump into the hobby. Of course we'll be expecting pictures of your pipes.

Welcome Aboard! Jump right in like you've been here your whole life. Keep smokin' that Anniversary Kake. A personal favorite.

Welcome Tim. Pull up a recliner, kick back, and puff away! The smoking lamp is always lit. :pipe:

Thanks for the welcome. The pipes are not really ready for prime time. I am only on number 5 and each time I learn a lot. By around Number 20 I should have pretty good quality. Making a good smoker, I am finding, is not that difficult, just a matter of good briar, drilling angles and a nice open smoke hole. What is really hard is shaping and making it look nice. I see a lathe in my future. Here is a pretty bad iphone pic of 2 of them. Should I ever attempt to sell some when I learn the craft, I will trust you all to destroy this picture.

Thanks for the comment on my horse. That was a picture as a one year old. He is four now and feeling a little neglected while I spend all my time in the workshop.
