My name is Tim and I've been a cigarette smoker for the last 30 years. I smoke to relieve stress, but was very tired of cigarettes. So I looked for an alternative. I tried cigars, but they made me ill. I have recently found my calling. The pipe.
Have only been smoking for 3 weeks so I as green as they get. I am at the aromatics stage of baccy and am enjoying it emmensely. Will move to finer blends as my palette matures.
I am happy to be here and hope I fit in ok withsome of the stupid questions I may ask.

Welcome, Tim, welcome to the fray. You'll find a lot of experience and knowledge here, along with an ample amount of bull and totally unsupportable opinions (kind of like live in general, now that I think of it?).

Natch

Welcome aboard mate!

Keep tryin' them different baccys and you'll find a world of treasures waiting for ya! Nothin' broken with them sweet weeds either as long as they are making you happy. Haven't smoked an aro for a while now but can say without a flinch that some of my best memories are from the chocolate-brandy smokes of my early days.

Glad to have ya and do keep to the discussions and photo exhibitions we love around here!

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. :king:

I ordered in 2 shipments of various tobacco to start with. ( US )
Tobacco is just too damn expensive up here in BC. $25 for a pouch and $35 for a tin.
Selection is next to nil unless I go downtown which is an hours drive one way.

One order has arrived : Butera Sweet Cavendish, CAO Sweet Vanilla, SolaniX Sweet Mystery, Villager 1888 Late Night.
Am working on those right now.
To come : Mac Baren Plumcake, Brebbia Latakia Flake, Ashton Smooth Sailing.
I started out with a tin of Erinmore Flake and Capt. Black Royal. ( those were ok, but nothing special )

Any info. you can share on the other blends would be appreciated.

Grats on the beginning pipe smoking. You picked a great aro in Ashton's Smooth Sailing! That's one of my personal all time favorites so far. :cyclops:

welcome tim! i'm an ex-cig smoker as well... i quit some 6 months ago. smells nasty to me nowadays, i wouldn't touch it with a 10-ft pole... now my pipes. i thought it was going to be a surrogate addiction, but it became a passion. hope the experience works for you as well!
