Just researched the complete stanzas of "We wish you a merry Christmas" and according to the stanzas of the song was surprised by the traditional carolers who sang it demanding, not asking for, "Figgy Pudding" from the folks they were caroling to, even threatening a sit-in if their demands were not met.
I, being I, then researched Figgy Pudding which is a very real dessert/confection, can be made with plums or figs. So the real name of this dessert is Plum or Fig Pudding.
I know there are some gourmet and food aficionados here on BoB, I therefore pose this question:
Has anyone actually made "Figgy Pudding", (Plum or fig pudding)?
If you have, can you explain to me how high the side walls of the boiling pot should be and where in the world does one get a trivet for the pudding containers to sit on?
Caveat: The recipe calls for some unusual additives which by the way are not cheap and are also not easily found everywhere. Plus in the cooking - this item is not baked but essentially simmered in a container(s) in a large pot for 5 hours, then when served, set ablaze by an accelerant - ETOH.
Merry Christmas
Peter
