This hatchet head was in a box of stuff my sister-in-law gave me after my brother-in-law passed. I remember him talking about finishing it up but he never got the chance. I've had it for a while but I never could decide what material to use for the handle. I saw this chunk of wood along the nature trail on a recent walk; don't even know what kind of wood it is, but I thought the curve and the size might be about right. I think it turned out OK. The antler burr was in the box too. I doubt I'll ever use it (it does have a nice balance though) but I'm glad to finish it up for him. Now to get some scrap leather and make a head cover...
