Back in the mid 1970's when I started buying pipes for mostly the Tinder Box they always had some seconds and I bought a hand full of them and the only thing that was wrong with them would be tiny little flaws that you could see where they had patched them. hardly noticeable though for the most part. Do any of the stores now still do that?

Several of the ones I bought were supposed to be English made and don't remember the company name, maybe it started with a C?? I find these pipes smoke as good as any and other than my 2 Caminetto's Business pipes I bet that I have smoked the seconds more than the others.

So any of you have any of these seconds and do any of the suppliers still do that? Maybe Tinder Box? I don't have any tobacco store I can walk in any longer. Even the larger towns within 120 miles of me have none, except I have not tried Shreveport yet.

I have a few Savinelli seconds that I use as fishing pipes & they smoke great. I'm obviously not sure what the practise is for B&M's in the USA. I've found seconds to be a great way to add to one's rotation at low cost, usually without sacrificing smokeability.

I agree and have several and like to smoke them all.

Thanks for the info. The 2nd's just smoke really well and is a good way to have more pipes, like I need more, but I want more, LOL! Can anyone say OCD?
