Good day to all. I am an almost three decade pipe smoker from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In addition to enjoying pipes, I also collect and refinish/refurbish them. My preferences run to vintage estate pipes, and the more unique, the better....my favourites being the briars, but I do own and enjoy a couple of meers, and I prefer bents...the benter, the better. My tobacco preferences are darker, rich, aromatic types.
Here in Canada, and especially in Alberta, and even moreso in Calgary, we pipe-smokers are very few and far between, so shops are rare and nowhere near as impressive as most shops in the US and overseas, places to smoke outside of one's home are extremely limited (generally on the walkways and some public places), and tobacco choices are very limited and extremely expensive (typically $24-28/ounce, or $0.80-$1.00/gram), and even estate pipes in antique/collectables shops are uncommon at best. I come to you from as much a pipe-wasteland as you are ever to encounter.
