hi everyone, I'm a 42 year old, and have been smoking pipes for almost ten years now. Originally I smoked cigars and still do, but that eventually led me to the wonderful world of pipes. I have worked for the sheriffs office here in Houma since I was 21 and to this day, still enjoy my job.
Reading some of the posts, there sure is a lot of knowledge here! It's kind of intimidating. Hopefully I can contribute in some small way, but I am by no means an expert in the matter of pipes or pipe tobacco.
I have a modest collection of 15 or 16 pipes, my favorites in my collection being the Savinelli's and karl Erik"s. I suppose that since I started with cigars, I have leaned more towards english blends. My "go to" tobaccos are Westminster, Penzance, and mm965. But, I do like veriety and am always trying new stuff.
Anyway, it's good to be here !

Welcome from a fellow newcomer (and former resident of Jefferson Parish). I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I am!

Howdy, pardner! Welcome to BoB. You don't happen to know a fella down there where you are by the name of Dave Robicheaux now would you?

Welcome Fallout! The former cop in me wishes I could hook up on the road with you for a bowl. Once a cop always dream the job. "Stay safe out there and do it to them before they do it to you!"

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome ! Mr. Airborn, I know too many Robichaux's to count. I may know him but I'm not sure.

Just pulling your leg, Fallout. Dave Robichaux is a fictitious detective created by James Lee Burke and his novels are set in southern Louisiana. If you haven't read Burke, I highly recommend him!

Take care, pardner!
