Good evening from the Yorkshire coast - and Alex!, I'm a retired mechanical engineer and pipesmoker of fiftyfive years, with a preferance for meerschaum pipes and virginia flakes....look forward to meeting you all!.

Welcome Major, glad to have you on board. With 55 years of experience you will have a lot to offer to those of us that don't have nearly that much pipe smoking under our belts. Looking forward to your posts. :)

Thanks for the words of welcome! - and the others!....."Yorkshire born and bred indeed" and now in my 71st. year - I still like to travel as much as possible, but it's always good to get back!. A source of sadness - in common with many of us, i suspect - is the ever decreasing opportunity to visit a 'proper' B&M tobacconist!, my nearest is now around forty miles away ( maybe a short distance to many! ), so mail order is fast becoming the norm!, and in this respect I've nothing but praise for the service I've received from 4 Noggins in Vermont, which also gives access to blends that were unheard of in years gone by, so I'm not too disheartened!, and find myself becoming more and more 'adventurous' in my selections!.
Alex.

Hi Eric....coincidence you should ask that! - I usually rotate the stronger ones from G&H, and SG along with Condor LC, well, today the mailman brought a tin of Capstan flake (gold) along with a regular order. I haven't had this stuff for around twenty years - and am blown away!, It doesn't seem to have changed much - if memory serves, and is really nice stuff, in the OGS, Dunhill style. I'll be ordering more, and probably the blue too! (seems to get better reports).
Alex
