Ok Brothers,

I need your help.

I have my granddad's old pipe. It is a "Regis" Briar pipe. Straight dublin style bowl. Smallest pipe I have seen . Smaller than the Stanwell lightweights.

I use this pipe all the time. In fact, when I got it, the briar shank was cracked, but the crack stayed far enough back that the stem goes past and it smokes fine. In fact, my fav little flack pipe.

It is rough shape though. Being from Canada, I don't have acess to a pipe shop for 600KM +. So other than ebay, no estate pipes.

Any ideas fellers?

Best,

I would send it off to get a band put on the shank. They can polish it up for you. You should post a picture if you can with some dimensions. Someone may have seen something similar or have a lead for you...

I'm a little lost here, are you asking where to get your pipe restored or are you asking us to give you estate pipes?

Sorry fellas. Kids first day back to school and a little frazzeled from the whole event. lol

I would never be so presumtuous to ask to be given a pipe. And I was completely unclear. Aslo the existing pipe is beyond repair as the crack extends beyond a where a band would fit, and wouldn't be worth the money to do so. The pipe has several visable fills, and is of obvious lower quality.

If anyone has a tiny dublin style estate they wish to part with, please let me know. We can deal with payment details over PM.

I appreciate the help as the isolation of my area does not aid finding estates. I am the only pipe smoker I have even heard of for a 600 km radius, lol. So not a huge market.

Thanks for the responses even though I was lacking in detail.

Best,

I'd be happy to make you one, as well....

Just saying...

I have been away from keyboard, but wanted to suggest that the Walker idea is what I think you should do.

So it is a pipe that would not have any value to a collector or it has a few fills? Who cares? It smokes well. I have put bands and new stems on pipes that would not have gotten a bid on Ebay. It belonged to your grandfather. Make a small investment and you are ready for another X years of flake smoking from your grandfather's pipe.

And then of course this is BoB. You need to scour Ebay and find a backup (or two). You can find deals.

You should probably ask Jesse (since he suggested it) what he gets for a custom pipe. I don't know and should probably ask too. Get one of those and you will have one for your grandchildren.

I was just thinking this... Have someone make you exactly what you want. Jesse makes a wonderful pipe!
