I just acquired a bulldog on e-bay. There is an equalateral triangle (white outline, not solid) logo on the stem -- it looks like a pyramid.

Does anyone know of a manufacturer using this logo?

The bowl is stamped:

MILE HIGH
RED ROCK
LONDON MADE

I've already checked the usual sites (Pipedia, Pipe Logos and Markings) to no avail. Hopefully someone here can help.

Thanks in advance,

Probably a factory overrun stamped for (or by) a pipe shop. The shape (plus the shape number, if present) might help you narrow it down, but probably won't. The "London Made" is a distributor's identifier, which is a start. An insider, at the time, would have been able to identify the group of companies involved.

There were a lot of custom pipe lines made for now-defunct pipe shops that I've come across. Some are made better than others, some might have been contracts with smaller, also now-defunct pipe makers, or they could have been by more known makers. There's probably someone out there that's really good at deciphering the stamping method, wording and font that could trace it back.

More importantly--how does it smoke? 8)

I'll let you know how it smokes as soon as I remove enough foul-smelling oxidation off the stem to let this thing anywhere near my nose :p

Or, to put it another way: How does it smoke? Like a Goodyear.
