Hello all. Glad to be here.
Brand new to the hobby of pipe smoking, less than a doz. bowls so far, but feel the information I was able to get from reading various post here and on a couple of other forums has me at least starting off on the right foot. Only own the one cob at this time, but intend to get at least one (or several) more asap. Would also like to get a church warden and one other daily smoker at some point. As I mentioned in my profile, first tobacco tried was Prince Albert and cant say I really dug it all that much, but the Optimus I tried this morning was awesome. My son said the Optimus smelled like dried prunes and raisins to him, so I'm guessing its an aromatic blend. Got a sample of it from a local smoke shop. My wife keeps telling me the universe wants me to smoke a pipe, since she and all the kids are really digging it and it makes me happy. Hell, even the dog seems to like me smoking a pipe. Dont want to clutter up the board with a bunch of noob questions right off the bat, unless I cant find answers in older post, so will close for now. Really appreciate the amount of information and camaraderie I've seen here so far, as well as the overall decency and civility of the members. Thank you for letting me join your group.
