Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to put a band on a pipe stem. I've seen some in pictures and think it looks cool on some pipes. I would really appreciate any info on installing or where to buy. Thanks

You should look up the pipemakers forum , there is a lot of great info archived there, if you do l a search you can find all kinds of stuff, and a lot of people willing to answer questions

the bands are made with one end a lillte smaller then the other find a band that fits the stem but not fully over the shank heat the band up with a torch which makes it expand then push the shank down on the band until it is flush when it cools the band will tighten up and wont go anywhere. Also there is a neat little tool you can buy from Pipe makers Emporium which helps and also tell you how to do it.

Best Regards
Richard

Thanks, I've been toying with the idea of doing a pipe with a band on it. Just curious as how to go about it.

Or just epoxy it in place
Hi Charl, I really hope I will be able to make it to one of your meetings this year!!! And, of course, you are more than welcome to come and visit us again.

Take care now
