Hey there everyone,

Brand new member here, so thank you all for having me here on your board. I've been smoking pipe for the past few years, but not religiously. Recently i've been trying to kick the death sticks and tins of chew. Just pipes and snuff for me from now on. Can't tell you how good it is to taste and enjoy tobacco!

Right now I have two pipes, a Peterson's of Dublin calabash, and a cheap kicker from the Czech Republic that actually smokes like a champ. I live near Boston, so I have the luxury of enjoying L.J. Peretti's offerings of pipe tobacco. Right now I am enjoying an 8 oz can of his "Smiths Own," as well as some Bullseye and British blends. As for flake, I have also been enjoying a can of MacBaren's Virginia.

I love dark leathery perique and Latakia, and can savor a sweet cavendish. I hope to learn a thing or two from you guys about what makes a good pipe good, and what you guys like to smoke and why.

I am first and foremost into snuff, but love my pipes and am excited to participate in your community here.

Thanks again for having me!

All the best,

-M

Welcome to BoB 'dog, good to have you. Lots of friendly folks hereabouts, and looks like you're well on your way in your pipe journey. Very nice to see you've already discovered Peretti's and having them local to you must be nice.

Also good to see you're putting down the coffin nails. The pipe is where it's at!

Cheers,

RR

Welcome. There is a section of this forum dedicated to nasal snuff, if you haven't found it already. I'm in southern ct and have been trying to get in a trip to Boston to visit LJ Peretti, you are indeed lucky to live so close. I hope you enjoy your time here

Good evening Raindog and welcome to the forum.

There's so much to choose from baccy wise which of course is one of the great things about our hobby and everyone has their favourites. However, you mention you like 'ninnies, perique and latakia so maybe have a look at Samuel Gawiths St James Flake (a Va Per blend) and Samuel Gawiths Squadron Leader, a blend with a slant toward latakia.

Good luck!
