I've been reading posts here for several months, and have appreciated the knowledge I've gained. I've been a pipe smoker for almost 40 years now, but there's still much to learn! I don't know how much I know that's worth contributing, but I figure there'll be times I can throw my two cents in, so I'm jumping in without swim fins and will (Ben) wade for the present!

Thank all of you for the nice greetings and comments. It's funny how I went from being only one of two 13 year old pipe smokers that I knew to being the kind of pipe smoking codger I used to admire watching - before I even realized it! Time sure does fly by quickly. I liked the old days when people could smoke their pipe as they were shopping. I saw some interesting pipes walking by me when I was a kid and I miss those images.
