I'm sure I'm not the only guy here who gazes at his pipe rack and says "If I didn't buy that one and that one then I could buy that new blowsnail that Smokingpipes just put up on their website".I have to remember what my friend told me years ago
"If my Uncle had tits he'd be an Aunt".

I do that almost everyday... 8) Giving up some pipes and saving up money is just one of those things I haven't mastered quite yet :D

.......................its a "quality of life" issue :!:

Last year at this time I sold off roughly 400 pipes on e-bay. I did it at the right time and realized a profit on almost all of them. When I started buying again I focused on quality over quantity. I now have under 100 pipes but all of them (save my Stans and yard pipes) are high and uber high grades. So to answer your question Winslow, Yes. I did feel that way!

luckily I wandered across BoB early and absorbed everyones experiences,,,,good and bad,,,while not in the Ferarri league, I now have some very nice quality pipes instead of a rack of Edsels and Ramblers,,,,thanks to all who passed on their honest opinions.

I agree. My problem is that I'm a hoarder and don't really want to sell any of my old ones off. I might only smoke one of them once or twice a year but they all bring back great memories. I just don't buy as many pipes as I use to and save up to buy the more expensive ones now.

Can honestly say I've never done this, nor had the thought. I have a few pipes I wish I hadn't bought; but it seemed like a good idea at the time!! I have traded a few pipes over the years; don't remember ever selling one. I'm not a collector; I'm a smoker, though I have a few "collectibles." I have one pipe (an early-20's) blue-dot Sasieni) for which I paid a bit over $300. Most expensive pipe I ever bought; will never do it again  FTRPLT
