After all of the recent talk of meers here lately, I've started smoking one of miy 3 every night as my last pipe of the day. I've always want a Bacchus style but never really found one that "looked right" till the other day. I've a friend over in Dallas who only smokes meers and has about 10 Bacchus carved heads and he showed me two carved by E.Cevher in Turkey and I went on line and found where he got his and ordered this one that "does it" for me! Here's some pics from the site of it and it should be here in around two weeks! I'll never be able to get it totally colored as his are as i won't be smoking it as long as he has his but it's gonna be nice to see that smiling face

Hey I live in Dallas as well. Where do you get most of your pipe supplies? All the tobacco shops in Dallas proper are way overpriced. Are you in any local pipe smoking groups?

Very nice carving Monbla, I hope you truly enjoy your masterpiece. I smoke a meer on occasion and really do enjoy them. Congrats on a fine pipe.

Impressive meer Monbla! Bacchus is a party animal, and this one fits the part.

The ghost of Christmas Present, in the 1951 movie, Scrooge has always reminded me of Bacchus.

I was just thinking that a three pipe series done in meerschaum of ghosts; Past, Present and Future would be a cool thing. While we're at it, Marley, Cratchit and Ebeneezer would round it out nicely.

The 1951 Scrooge with Alastair Sim is something very special.

Sorry for the digression from topic. My mind tends to flutter around from one thing to another.
