Inherited this pipe, need assistance

As a TOTAL newbie to pipes and pipe smoking, I recently inherited my great grandfather's pipe, and would like to know more about it/restore it. I'd like to get this thing beautiful again and cherish it.

Any insight or advice that you might have would be appreciated greatly.
