The Great Pumpkin smoking some Tilbury in the John Barrett rusticated Olivewood pipe, check.

Deer.

Oh well, 4 out of 5 ain't bad!

Too bad the Walnut on your Thompson is so shoddy.  Nice piece. Stunning in fact.

I had a Rem Model 7 in 7-08 and loved it. Bausch & Lomb 2-7 scope was perfect. Standard factory Federal shot an inch at 100 yd and it never failed.


I've been thinking about heading up again. Maybe a Henry in 44 Mag. Maybe the 30-30 with the Ghost Ring sight.

Thanks folks. I have 2 forestocks for the 7mm-08, the Schnabel I use for most of my outings, but if I frequent a spot that has a large tree that has fallen it's the perfect rest for the bipod so I use it with the shorter forestock shown.

Here is the stock purchased to make it from.

Here is the receiver after it was sent out to be stripped, dismantled and color case hardened.

There were those asking to see the finished product that came from this AAA Exhibition Grade Circassian Walnut Blank.

It was turned into a TC Encore Pro Hunter 209 Black Powder Inline, I also have a fully rifled 12 gauge barrel that shots saboted bullets and a RealTree camouflaged barrel and stock set with a Turkey choke.

Stock work was done by Bullberry Gun Works, Color Case hardening was done by sending the blued frame out to be stripped, disassembled, color case hardened and reassembled, all further gunsmithing work was done by me.

Well I enjoyed my days afield making the woods safe for the deer another year! :shock: Lol, although Turkey season is a few months off it's time to morph the Custom TC Encore Pro Hunter into its Turkey guise.
