Well, it's that time of year. My collection has changed a lot lately (seems to happen every winter, when I'm home with time on my hands....) and the new replacements for pipes sent off to better homes are all Petersons. So, given the day tomorrow, I believe a fambly photo is in order. Feel free to post your own

Handsome family! Especially the birdseye on the system pipe... it's just ridiculous. (Love the pearl-bit straight bulldoggy too.)

In the top pic, the top two pipes are Red Spigots, a 999 and an 80S. Second row down, the Molly Malone set in sandblast. Third row down, on left a Deluxe 9S Peter WD memorial pipe (a now deceased kindred spirit from Smokers Forums, a true gentleman whose demise makes the pipe world a lesser place) and the Smoker Forums 2009 POY. Bottom row, on left an Irish Harp shape 05, on right a Smokingpipes dot com exclusive Kildare in shape 999. I also have a little 317 system pipe that stays in a little one pipe carry pouch, and there are a couple more Petersons on the way, funded by a recent sale, pics to come later

That is a really nice set of Peterson's.
Obviously a thoughtfully assembled collection.
I think I'm liking the two pearl stemmed pipes the best.

It's a start . I actually started collecting a few Petersons several years back and was disappointed, got rid of all but the little sandblast 317 (not in the photos, I forgot it until after I'd taken the pics). I had all system pipes then with vulcanite stems. I've since found that the non system pipes with acrylic stems are some of the better smokers out there, and with the myriad of shapes, finishes, ltd editions and so on, and given the mostly accessible blue collar prices, they make a heck of a lot of sense for a guy to get into. You could spend years having fun collecting them. No more system pipes for me though, except for the memorial pipe in my collection, a momento which looks really nice and smokes OK, and the 317 which is my little stealth traveling pipe. I'm staying away from vulcanite and P lip stems too. Still, there's a lot left to collect, and I am holding out hope that they keep expanding their use of acrylic, even up to the Sherlock Holmes line (hint, hint Peterson).

I'm with you on the acrylic stems!
In fact, I think it was something you wrote about vulcanite vs. acrylic that got me thinking about it in the first place.
