The gentleman does beautiful work:

I haven't seen any of his pipes that even come close to being affordable with my budget, but they are gorgeous to look at.

I'd love to see his aesthetic married to a more affordable line of pipes, but I doubt it will happen. Someone should do a daily pipe calendar with a picture of a different pipe for everyday, and include exotic highgrades as well cool pipes from more traditional pipe makers.

He is amazing. He was helping at the Pipe Maker's Seminar in Chicago this year. So full of energy. Young. I saw him make a nearly completed looking pipe on a bandsaw. Where others just used it to get rid of larger chunks and then went to the belt sander. :)

Here's an AMAZING Reis Calabash they had on smokingpipes.com awhile back:

Selling price (drum roll)

$2700

That is a masterpiece! I love the subtle, yet significant twist on the classic design. That, to me, is the essence of neo-classic pipe design. When the pipe starts looking too much like "art", it starts to lose me a little, but a work like this one is perfection. A few others I've seen that seem to really have a handle on twisting those classic forms just enough are Former, Eltang and Manz, although I'm sure the list could go on.

$2700 will buy me a lifetime of tobacco and then some. Very awesome looking Calabash though!

My favorite pipe I have seen of his was on the cover of Pipes And Tobaccos magazine. I pull that issue out from time to time just to drool over that pipe! He is an amazing artist. I just wish I could afford one! :(
