Just bought one from CupOJoes...STOKED to get it!

Anyone here smoked the Eriksens? Have any input on them?

Mail came and I'm pretty hyped...the Eriksen looks and feels awesome!

Looks like a pretty classy pipe,,,rugged yet sophisticated,,,enjoy

I have an Eriksen, that I bought a few months back, and its a great smoking pipe! its a straight rhodesian/bulldog shape. and smokes very cool for a straight pipe. its got the same finish, that half rustic/half smooth. Very attractive pipe, with a square shank to boot. In fact I smoked it last night with some Coyote Classic. :)

Hey Grease...yeah, LOVE the smoke on this thing..I may be picking up another in the near future. Would love to find a bulldog in this style...

Take care!

do you have a tinderbox near you?? If so, ive seen 3 TB stores stocking these Eriksen pipes.
I haven't seen the style you got, but Ive seen the bulldog and a few straight pokers.
I scooped mine up for around 50 i think. Great buy, the stem was a bit oxydized, i know ive skipped over this pipe several times since probably last sept, or october, I finally picked it up back in may.
How is the rim of your bowl? is it smooth or rusticated?

It's rusticated...follow-up to this thread, the dang bowl had 2 pin-hole looking things in the bottom and it was LEAKING on me...I was a bit concerned since once you smoke 'em, most places tell you tough luck...fortunately for me, the folks at Cup O' Joes aren't like that and Eric told me to send it back and he'd get me a new one...THAT was really cool of them!

Sent it back this past Friday, hopefully should have the new one this week.

Yes we do have a TB, but they weren't displaying any Eriksen's or Nording for that matter. As was discussed in another thread, the TB here in Lakeland is much more a cigar store than a tobacco shop so their pipes/baccy are almost an after thought...

I have 2, a very nice pipe for the price with good fit and finish.

Hey Mike, since i'm new to pipe smoking, dumb question, what is a leaky pipe? I was looking to order some stuff from cup of joe's, after the way they treated you, I will definitely give them a try. - John

The pipe he returned had two pinholes through the bottom of the bowl ,,,probably a defect in the briar,,,this lets air into the tobacco chamber when trying to draw smoke through the stem. Instead of smoke flowing down through the bowl and out the stem, the air flows from the pinholes (at the bottom) out the stem,,,no smoke. Like trying to suck milk through a perforated straw. Not a dumb question at all,,,

Cup O' Joes is sending me a brand new pipe - it's a bit different than the one I originally purchased but it's still an Ericksen and the retail is a bit higher than what I paid for the first one. Again, NOT something I would anticipate from a vendor so all is well.

Photos of the new briar when I get it...take care all!

Received the new pipe today, very similiar to the one I sent back except this one is a "sitter" and the bowl has thicker walls. I noted that at the bottom of my first break-in smoke, was getting a lot of ash and when I looked at it, it appears the hole is bigger and not all the way to the bottom of the bowl.

Not sure if this is a BIG issue or not but for the most part it smoked fine, so I'm pleased with the service from Cup O' Joes and REAL happy with my replacement...

Should have some photos to post soon!

Take care everyone!
