I was back in a back bedroom of my house cleaning out some clothes and stuff to give to Catholic Charities here in town and came across a shoe box that had 4 of my missing Edward's pipes as well as 3 un-opened tins of 759 and 2 of S&P's Gentleman's Mixture!! Also found 6 pipe nails, a plaid cloth roll-up pouch w/some VERY DRY 759 in it as well as 8 very yellowed pckages of B.J.Long's cleaners ! Sort of a time warp Christmas :p
The pipes were as follows:
1x # 708 Pot - about a grp5 size w/saddle bit
1x #721 Canadian - it's a LONG one just at 7 1/2" !
2x #730 Coachman - 1 smooth and the other the "tanshell" blast they made back in the late 70's
Here's a pic of the Coachman shape (not mine) which were some GREAT smoking machines as I recall. ( I'm smoking the "tanshell" blast one as I type)
All of 'em are partially oxidized and I'll need to do some polish to them but all are ready to smoke "out of the box" so to speak right now :p

All the tins seem to be fine, no rust or such and still feel sealed. We'll find out when I open 'em :p Now I'm up to 90 pipes so I guess I'll have to go for 100 before I die

I like how you are able to time-capsule bomb yourself.

That Coachman is cool, always liked those! Never seen one up close n personal.

I moved into this house twenty years ago after my last divorce and just put stuff away and I've never really used anything in that closet since I put stuff in it! I'm finding ALL sorts of stuff I forgot I had :p

Just don't get to the stage where you forgot where all your pipes are, and then post a message saying, "I just found 100 pipes sitting on a rack in a room I never knew existed!"

I'll have to check on that for sure . I'm sure I only have 3 bedrooms but I could be wrong 40 years can play hell with ones mind ya know. No you don't you've still got some more to go, but you'll see

I have more things I'd rather forget than you can imagine. If finding "new" things I managed to stash for myself is the extent of my worries, hell, it'll be cheaper in the long run.

Great find! 4 more pipes! I bet you knew the tobacco rotation into which they will see service when you first laid eyes on them!

I am contemplating putting a package together for myself right now. Have a few drinks, then go stash it on a high shelf in the garage. I am bound to forget about it in no time. I would just be afraid of not finding it again.

That's better than finding a $20.00 bill in your old coat pocket! I love it when stuff like this happens....but I hate losing stuff! It drives me mad.

So cool! I've found tins of tobacco that I got for C'mas that my missus put away with tree decorations and lights. And I recently found a file containing receipts for tobacco and pipe purchases I made in the 70s and 80s. Prices have certainly changed.

Well since they've been sitting in a box for 20 yrs, they probably don't smoke too well. I volunteer to be your official tester. I promise, I'll get them back to you as soon as I deem them worth your 40 yrs of experience! :p
