Craig Tarler of C&D announced today in another forum that Bob Runowski passed away some two weeks ago. I don't know why his passing took so long to reach the pipesmoking community in which he was so active, but there it is. Shockingly sad news. I befriended Bob in several sites like this one and even Facebook. He was always a source of great information and was generous with it, yet always self-effacing and humble in his approach. Many of his C&D blends are among my favorites: Morleys Best, OJK, Epiphany, and others. I would also love his reminiscences of the music, literature and folkways of the Philly and other places of his past. I believe he had just accomplished his long-awaited retirement or was about to retire. Rest in Peace Bob.

He was a cool old bird. I first 'met' him on the old Knox Cigar board.
He did have a wealth of knowledge even if he was a Burley Nut.

The saddest news I've heard of in a while. Bob was friend to all, and a giant in the pipe and tobacco community.

Indeed sad news :( . Before I read this I just lit up a pipeful of OJK one of my go to blends. :(
