Folks, I'm finding that I'm enjoying larger (wider) bit pipes the best. I have a few Peterson P-lip and they just don't seem to do it for me. Currently my widest bit is almost 3/4". Can anyone recommend pipes that would have a similar characteristic? (And please correct me if its not called a 'bit')
Thanks!

Each pipe varies, but a lot of the Italian mid-grade pipes are built more like you like - il Ceppo, Radice, Ser Jacopo.

The Kaywoodie handmades (check out the freehands and the supergrains at park lane, for example) tend to have fairly wide, flat bits.

Or just cozy up to your friendly neighborhood custom pipe maker and tell him your preference and whip out your wallet. Pipemakers are like muggers, but it's a little more gentle.

Sasquatch seems to know what he's talking about - I have two italians mid-grades with wide bits - both fishtails from Mario Grandi - one near and one over 7/8th inch - you can find him selling a few dozen of his pipes on ebay on any given day. Try emailing him and asking what he has available, as I'm sure he has more than are listed.
