Meerschaum Madness

OK guys, I need some help on this one. Got a 100 year old block meerschaum; the tenon has unscrewed from the shank but is still firmly in the stem  (probably from heavy recent use, maybe the meer got soft?) when I was unscrewing the stem from the pipe.

I gently screwed it back in, didn't loose the bit alignment fortunately, but do I just let it rest and hope it tightens up or is there a "fix" for this that I'm not aware of? I'm a mess without my meer.

HELP!!!

beeswax might be a safe first step? might make the threads just sticky enough to stay put, and it's easily removable. might not last past a couple of smokes though. not speaking from experience, just an idea.

Thanks, it is something to consider.

Actually, I'm fine with unscrewing the tenon from the meerschaum, but it probably shouldn't be a long term way of doing things. I've thought of an epoxy type of glue, but was hoping to find a "proper" way to do the fix. The meer looks solid enough around the area where the tenon screws in...just going to let it "rest" for another day or so.

I'd have to second the recommendation for tenon replacement by Walker. That tenon looks pretty worn.

Actually, after looking at it closely (after getting my heart out of my throat), what looks like wear is the "glue" that was used originally. The glue is putty like and wipes right off leaving perfect threads. So everything is intact both in the shank and on the tenon...it just unscrewed from the shank.  Question is what to use as glue to put it back in permanently....time for Walker, before I f***K something up (for which, I have a high aptitude).
