I got a crazy idea the other day. I think it may have been from a post that I read somewhere...

Anyway, I was jaring up a batch of Stonehaven thinking that I would really love a bowl, but the darn stuff was just too wet.

So, I popped a flake in the microwave for ten seconds just to see what would happen.

The flake came out warm (obviously) and, most importantly, dry! :affraid:

That was the best bowl of Stonehaven I have ever smoked.

Anyone else ever tried this or am I just way behind the curve?

I have done it a few times. No longer than 10 sec but usually 5-6

I know a few other guys that do it.

I usually just let my stuff air out for a bit. Or I pack a bowl at night and smoke it the next morning.

I guess the microwave gives you pretty good control over how dry you want a blend... You could just make a note of how much tobacco for how long yields the desired results... :study:

Sorry George.

I wasn't trying to steal your thunder. :pirat:

Your method involves efficient heat recovery whereas mine is wasteful (and quicker  )

Microwave drying has been talked about before. I'm kind of into going old school... ashtray filled with bacca, or a piece of 1/4-folded paper, and wait. Either wind or a space heater (in winter) does the job. *shrug* There's something about the premature heating of the 'bacca that makes me think the volatile taste goodness might be affected, so no nuker for me, either.
