If this was a lone or solitary experience, I wouldn't be so annoyed.

I just popped a tin of Kendal Cream de-luxe Mixture........ dry as a bone

My solution, certainly not the best, I popped another tin of Kendal Cream Mixture (this time got the "hiss" but by no means overly moist.) I mixed the two together and jarred it.

What I intended to be an nice "change of pace" experience has left me with a headache

Surely, surely, surely......... some people have complained to Samuel Gawith over the years... simply the worst packaging IMHO

Penzance is worst. Half of the tins I recently ordered came right open with very little effort. All you can do is check them often. I do store some in those hard Ziplock plastic containers. Just in case they pop between checking them.

I agree the small square or rectangular tins are the worst. I check them when I get them then put them on the rack but just have to hope the seal is good dont like to pull to hard because I've had a few just open up.

If you can pull them open without a knife or coin, the seal is bad anyway. Seals are a summamabish. I've sat for 20 min before trying to open a tin, then accidentally drop it on the carpet and it pops open...

I've never had an issue of the sort with a single tub of Walnut or Prince Albert. :D

I recently opened a tin of Penzance that was dry. Don't know how long it had been dry, but I keep an eyedropper bottle of distilled water on my desk, so I dropped 6 or 7 drops of the water on the penzance, still in the tin, clapped the lid on and put tin and all in a pint mason jar and sealed it up. It has been in there about a week so I opened it up a few minutes ago. The water has equalized in the tobacco and it feels just like a freshly opened sealed tin. Haven't smoked any of it yet, so don't know about that. My eyedropper bottle of distilled water comes in handy with tobacco lots of times.
