My fifth pipe

Well, I'm still turn'en turds, here's my fifth pipe, just a plain and straight Billiard like pipe.
I kinda screwed the pooch on this one drilling the tobacco chamber 1 inch diameter. Thought I was grabbing a 7/8" bit when oops! too late. Hey Poop happens right! Anyway then the pits came out of hiding so I'm having it blasted then I'll stain and finish it and maybe put a bowl coating in this one, then drive a nail through it and put it on the wall.












This pipe isn't stained or waxed yet.

The chamber is fine and you can't help pits. May look nice once it's blasted. The lines and shape are quite nice. Good effort!

I like it Ron. I am not sure what impresses me more, your skill at making your pipes, or your ability to count to five :shock:

The stem material is pretty spiffy too!

Nothing at all wrong with that effort Ron. Looks nice and I like the stem contrast. Can't wait to see it after it's been blasted.

Dude you nail that beautiful pipe to a wall and I'll just cry. Seriously though I like it the stem is quite fetching. As far as the pits go well I'm sorry but I like a pipe with pits. Then I'm not fretting about dinging them up. Post more pics when she's done. I think she'll turn out right nice

Thanks guys! I just learned to count to 5 recently. They told me if I was going to make pipes I had to learn to count my fingers so........one hand down one ta go.
The stem is a dark amber colored Acrylic I order awhile back by mistake for another pipe. I only had enough black for one so I figured I'd save it for a nice pipe and stick this on it. By the way, I hand cut this stem just because someone whined about the last one. :suspect:

Another fine carving Ron. I actually like the larger bore on some of my pipes, as it is so common to find pipes in the half inch to three quarter range. Perfect for ribbon cut Lat blends, or maybe a cigar leaf blend like Billy Budd. :cheers: :cheers: :cheers:

Sounds like a great smoker for a really goopy aromatic, yah know, something you can sit and slurp on for a couple of hours....

I can send you something you can blow bubbles with if you like....

Perhaps a nice OTC mixed with Escudo to break it in?? Cherry and Lavender might be nice..............

Seriously, a great looking pipe as it is, fill the pits with matching coloured stuff and wax it.... Blondes are in this year.................

With all that straight grain around the bowl. it ought to be a nicer look blasted than smooth!! And the dia. of the bowl is not outside what one finds on many Billiards! A nice Tanshell type of finish would look great with that stem !! I think you've got a pipe with MORE good aspects than you've given it credit for !! :twisted: :twisted:

Well, maybe but, the tobacco chamber is too dadburn big for me to smoke, hell I can't sit much longer then 45 minutes without being in pain. Someone in better shape then me will have to smoke this one.

Cart IMHO it's a great looking pipe that anyone would be proud to own. BTW there is nothing wrong with a 1" dia bowl, I have a couple of billiards that size love em. MIKE
