My honest-to-God-I-promise last Peterson

I've said this before, but this time I REALLY mean it! I've been looking for a Sherlock Holmes series Hopkins for quite a while and this is only the second one I've ever seen for sale, and the first one was already sold when I found it. I paid WAY too much for it, and I broke my cardinal rule on Petes - it has a fishtail - but given the rarity I wasn't gonna let it get away. From a seller called Deadmans Pipes and beautifully reconditioned - it is literally like new. Beautiful cherry finish which I understand is the way they were made as the shape is a take-off on cherrywood pipes. Easily the most unusual Peterson I've ever owned...

That is truly glorious. I'm only just starting out, but one day I hope to have a few pipes that lovely in my collection.

I’m thinkin’ one of the books full of Pat McManus stories. One of my favorite stories details the infamous ‘modified stationary panic’ which I’ve used during my interactions with China Roosters in the woods behind our house. Sneaking through the undergrowth (in my youth) with my trusty BB gun, closer to the enemy, quiet as a midnight breeze…and the damn rooster explodes out of the bracken a yard in front of my nose, screeching like a banshee!!!
