Well I had a wonderful time at the GKCPC show this year. For those of you who don't know, this was the first time I actually showed some of my pipes at the show. I took 11 of my hand carved pipes. I sold all of them.

With all that extra change rattling in my pocket I just had to expand my collection. I had the chance to pick up some pipes I normally wouldn't be able to afford so I took full advantage of it.

First, a new Brian Rowley sandblasted billiard. Excellent looking classic from a good friend of mine. She smokes sublimely.

Next, an Abe Herbaugh bent egg. This pipe is so well made it is scary. Abe hasn't been doing this for long and I knew this might be my only chance to pick up one of his pipes while his prices are still decent.

The next one is a Sebastian Beo Canadian. I've always wanted to try a Beo, but I just wasn't sure about the quality/price ratio. I'm glad I got this one. This has got to be THE best pipe for the money on the market today. All the details are right. Excellent smoker.

Now the really cool stuff. This is a Todd Johnson cutty. While it is one of Todd's earlier works it is obvious that the quality is present. This one was an estate so the price was just right.

And now the coup de grace: a Jeff Gracik straight apple. The proportions, symmetry, fit, and finish on this pipe are probably about as perfect as human hands are capable of. This is the best pipe in my whole collection.

The whole entourage:

And just for jollies, a photo of me at my little booth.

You're totally out of control, O.   Nicely done.   :D
Most definitely so. The prudent thing to do would have been to take all the money I made from selling pipes and save it. Of course, no one has ever accused me of being prudent. :p

Only when rarely necessary, I always say.

I think you should give up saving, for life. Here's my plan: keep doing what you did! Carve, attend shows and sell out. Buy artisan pipes. What a life!

There are PAD scores and there are PAD Mega-scores, but I think this goes beyond the PAD Mega-score category and into realm that I have never experienced.

PS-How's the SH In-B-Tween Mixture?

Thanks. I am quite pleased with my haul, and really didn't spend that much money. Everyone was willing to negotiate for the best prices. In fact, I came home with only a few hundred less than I left with.

As for the In-B-Tween, It is excellent. The cut of the tobacco is really fine, so it is easy to over pack in a pipe, but it has wonderful flavour. It has just enough latakia and orientals to make the smoke taste creamy, but has enough virginia to provide a nice sweetness. I'm very pleased with it.

Congratulations Jesse! To sell ALL your pipes and then score on those fine pipes..... Well played brother, well played.

Congrats on your success Jesse! Those pipes are amazing. Sounds like an amazing weekend.

I could have sworn that Todd Johnson pipe came with a stem....:D

Well, I'm sitting here smoking my Jesse Jones Pipe that I got from the show and I was just about to post about how well it's smoking... So, I guess I'll just add it in here.

Here's the beauty I got from my good friend Jesse Jones. So far, it smokes very well. Great draw, no gurgle. Great pipe!

Sure, Brian. Hell I'll send all my pipes your way when I'm done with them. Done meaning that I'm pushing up daisies somewhere. I'll go amend my will right now.

I'm glad the pipe is smoking well. One of these days I'm gonna get you on a Jones pipe that I actually think is worth a hoot.

That is one mega score of pipes there. Congrats on yours being sold and acquiring those beautiful pipes.
