Well I had a wonderful time at the GKCPC show this year. For those of you who don't know, this was the first time I actually showed some of my pipes at the show. I took 11 of my hand carved pipes. I sold all of them.
With all that extra change rattling in my pocket I just had to expand my collection. I had the chance to pick up some pipes I normally wouldn't be able to afford so I took full advantage of it.
First, a new Brian Rowley sandblasted billiard. Excellent looking classic from a good friend of mine. She smokes sublimely.
Next, an Abe Herbaugh bent egg. This pipe is so well made it is scary. Abe hasn't been doing this for long and I knew this might be my only chance to pick up one of his pipes while his prices are still decent.
The next one is a Sebastian Beo Canadian. I've always wanted to try a Beo, but I just wasn't sure about the quality/price ratio. I'm glad I got this one. This has got to be THE best pipe for the money on the market today. All the details are right. Excellent smoker.
Now the really cool stuff. This is a Todd Johnson cutty. While it is one of Todd's earlier works it is obvious that the quality is present. This one was an estate so the price was just right.
And now the coup de grace: a Jeff Gracik straight apple. The proportions, symmetry, fit, and finish on this pipe are probably about as perfect as human hands are capable of. This is the best pipe in my whole collection.
The whole entourage:
And just for jollies, a photo of me at my little booth.
