Need a BoB Guru's Help

Found an interesting clunker on Ebay.  I figured it was worth the whole $10.99 to own it for a while.  It was rode hard and put up wet.  The band is a likely repair.  What it has going for it is my curiosity.

I need someone who know makers to take a look at the stamping.  The seller tried to link it to Charatan but I know better. I will look up the London Proof marks when I get it.



His description: VINTAGE DELACOUR BROTHERS ESTATE TOBACCO SMOKING PIPE & STERLING SILVER BAND
What little I can find on them indicates a pre-1900 branch of a French firm. The initials might reference the brothers.

The band was definitely a repair. I have a neat GBD Prehistoric prince that has a good, sterling-hallmarked repair, and it smokes great. Because it was a repair, the pipe came very cheap, and I use it frequently. I like pipes that have some personality like these.
