I've recently been looking for a Churchwarden to add to my collection. I've been considering a Savinelli 601 rustic. Or maybe a Nording custom made Churchwarden. I was hoping for suggestions on other Churchwardens, or maybe a tip of the hat so to speak on a brother who can do the job? Appreciate the help as always, and may your smokes always be sweet

I think it all depends on your price range. Savinelli makes a great warden for not much loot. If you want something made by an artisan you're probably looking at least $300.

How funny, I own a Savinelli 601 (black). I love it; it is my favorite Churchwarden to date. I only smoke aromatics in this pipe. I purchased it from a small yet eloquent pipe shop in "Carmel by the sea," CA. Yeah, I paid a little too much for it, but I was helping out the shop owner who was obviously paying a premium for rent. OK, back on topic, I highly recommend this pipe. You won't be disappointed!

I keep lingering on the stanwell Hans Christian Anderson churchwardens when I see them on a site. I haven't bought one yet, but the urge keeps coming back.

It's hard to beat the Stanwell HCA as far as quality/price ratio. Are there better pipes, yes, but usually not for that price. Plus all the HCAs are beautiful to look at. I've been particularly impressed with the finish on them. Plus the short stem is an added bonus. I actually rarely use the warden stem. I inherited all 7 of the HCAs recently but I had already purchased #'s 2, 4, and 6 for myself.

I have been dreaming of the Stanwell HCA #6 smooth myself. Getting 2 stems is a great bonus. Not cheap though.

First church was a Savinelli 104...not a bad pipe by any means. The HCA Stanwells are darn good looking pipes and Stanwell makes a good pipe. Take a look at the Brebbia Twin, that is on my list of pipes to buy sometime soon.

The 601 is a beautiful pipe. The bend is perfect. The bowl just isn't quite right. The Brebbia is closer to the right bowl but not nearly enough bend for my liking. Alas, the search continues
