So my wife and I hit the antique store today just for giggles and there just so happen to be a vendor that had some pipes. I rummaged through them and found one that was in really nice shape, just needs a polish and cleaning but otherwise looks really nice and it's nice and bulky and for 4 bucks I couldn't really go wrong. So I'm trying to figure out who actually made this pipe but google has come up empty so maybe you guys might have an idea.
The markings on the stem on one side are in a cursive script and say "Ken" and then under than in standard lettering say "PAT. APLD" (i'm guessing that means Patent Applied. or not) then on the other side it has a block letter E. So far what I've found online is that yes there is a pipe maker that makes Ken Pipes out of Japan but those seem to be a limited and are numbered. Then I found a maker named Ken Erickson, which Ken E would make sense for but the only marking I saw his pipes of were a script marking of Erickson.
So any idea what maker uses Ken in cursive and a block letter E for their markings?
Thanks,
Eric
