New pipe smoker from Palo Alto, CA

Hello, BoB! I'm new to smoking pipes, so I'm sure to be bothering you all with lots of questions. I've dappled in cigars, and I smoked cigarettes for a while when I was younger. I've always had a bit of an interest in smoking a pipe, and i finally just went out and got myself started on yet another hobby. I currently have a Fe.Ro briar bent billiard i believe, and a Missouri Meerschaum corncob, with a Nording Freehand Signature on the way with a sizable shipment of tobacco to try out. I've dappled in enough hobbies that I did some research and figured I would need a few pipes and a bunch of different types of tobacco to try out. The Nording was a bit of an impulse, i must say. browsing pipes and i fell in love with it. after a week of looking at it just about daily, I realized it was the only one exactly like it, so of course i had to have it!

so far only have Virginia and English blends, not too interested in the aromatic thing yet. although i could be persuaded with a mildly scented (flavored?) one i bet.

so i apologize in advance for any noob questions, and I promise to do as much searching and research before I bug you all!

Welcome, and don't apologize for "dumb questions". There are probably a dozen other members that wanted to know the same thing, but didn't have the courage to ask. I do, however, specialize in dumb answers, as do a few other members here, so don't expect brilliance. Also, remember this a very personalized, individual hobby and we all have different views on what works and what doesn't, so their often isn't a single, universally correct answer.
