Been smoking for a month or so and only Aromatics that I found at Drug Store of those I liked the Borkum Riff Whiskey the best. Last week I went to McCranies in Huntersville and tried the Black Cherry now my new favorite. Plan to go again this week and am looking for suggestions. A good starter non aromatic to try, should I get Tin or loose tobacco. Then there are so many types of tobacco to choose from.

Thanks

Welcome to the brotherhood. Since you are going to "branch-out" take a look at some of the non-aro offerings from McClellands you will find at McCranies. They can help you choose but I would recomend McC's Aurora a nice smooth tastey easy smoking Va blend/mixture. JMHO :p

Welcome aboard.

I am always hesitant to make suggestions but I think you're pretty safe with jumping over to a nice straight VA mixture. I would suggest McClelland's Blackwoods Flake & Virginia Woods, G.L. Pease's Union Square is great as is Sam Gawith's Best Brown Flake.

For a great and very flavorful burley smoke I think Solani Aged Burley Flake is outstanding.

Happy shopping

Welcome to the forums, MC! Best of luck in the hunt for the best tobaccos for you, a hunt many of us are on as well!

thanks for all the info but the Frog Morton label looks nice not to mention all the reviews I've read. think I'll try it

Welcome, you have a great shop with MacCranies, I've only heard stellar comments about them (and their shop pix look wonderful).

Welcome! Great to have you aboard.

Since you are going to McCranies might as well try their "Red Ribbon"

It's a wonderful red Virginia blend. :)

Welcome to the BoB! Gotta give the Frog Morton On The Town a try for sure. If you like it, you can go with McClelland 5110 bulk English, which is much cheaper, and virtually the same blend.

I got some McCranies First Light which is McClellands 5100 red Va mix and I really like it. Also got the Latakia blend Frog Morton, it has an interesting smell but I do like the way it smokes. I think it will grow on me as I smoke the tin.

Welcome fellow NC'er! I'm over in the Raleigh area!

I never really got into the flavored tobacco. I am a fan McClelland Frog Morton on the Town, Dunhill London Mixture and the latest fan of C&D Guilford Flake. All are different. I tend to be a tin man rather then loose/bulk.

I hope you enjoy the brotherhood as much as I! Great folks and great conversation here and always helpful.

I just finished another bowl of the Frog Morton and as a new bbbbbbb, once you get past the tin smell and the smell of the smoke I really do like the taste and the amount of nicotine you get from the tobacco. I have realized now that tobacco is like whiskey or wine or scotch or whatever your poison......In that they are all the same but they are all different. Some good some bad and a lot of personal taste.

The tobacco world awaits us all, lol !
