Hi, my name is Matthew Miller,I am english from London but i now live in Sag Harbor N.Y,where i am a saltwater fly fishing guide.Matt

Welcome Matt! We seem to have quite a few fly fishers on the board. I've only made a few attempts at teaching myself with varied success. I hope to take it more serious in the future though.

A warm welcome Matthew.

I would think it would be somewhat unusual to be a "salt" water fly fishing guide. What kind of salt water "fly fishing"... salmon in tributaries, stripped bass?

:D Paul

i fish gardiners and peconic bays that form the water between the 'claws' of the eastern end of long island and in the fall i move my boat to montauk N.Y to fish the southern migration of fish down the coast. I fish for striped bass, bluefish, small blue fin tuna, weakfish and false albacore,as well as yellowfin tuna and mahi mahi offshore in the summer. All on fly and light tackle.
I started to do this years ago,as i thought i would like to combine one of my passions with earning my living.
The fishery here is seasonal so i don,t earn much but i i discovered that finding some kind of peace with what i do was a change from chasing the buck all over the world.I am originally from London England. Matt

Matt,
Hello & Welcome.
Congratulations on finding something you enjoy & can earn a living at.

Welcome to BoB. I'm an avid freshwater fly angler, who would love to try the saltwater game someday, nice to see one who can actually make a living of sorts doing it! :pipe:
